ICONA is a series that challenges the visual legacy of Western artistic tradition, reactivating it in the present by physically intervening on masterpieces of the past — tearing them, contaminating them, overlaying them with contemporary photographs — to rewrite the meaning of the image.

The act of tearing becomes both a political and aesthetic gesture: it breaks the canonical narrative and opens new possibilities of interpretation, where the sacred meets the everyday, and myth confronts reality.

Each icon is reborn as a fragment of collective memory, a witness to a time when art continues to question the present.
